Each operator had a different vertical, different volume, different cross-streets. The pattern that surfaced is the same one that drove our six operating principles.

  • Five-to-seven tool stacks were the norm. Each operator had stitched together a POS, a loyalty add-on, an email tool, a booking system, an SMS layer, and an offline spreadsheet. Nobody chose this stack — it accreted over years.
  • The total monthly burn was usually $600–$1,400. Spread across multiple invoices, ACH pulls, and renewal cycles, so it didn't feel like one bill. When we summed it on the first call, the operator usually paused.
  • Every owner had a "Friday afternoon spreadsheet." The spreadsheet that reconciled the tools because no tool agreed with another. That spreadsheet was always maintained by one person who couldn't take a real vacation.
  • Switching to Rehost reduced the monthly burn and the labor. The number went down (usually to $850/mo flat for Business clients) and the hours your staff spent administering software went down to zero. The Friday spreadsheet stopped being a job.
