Compare / Mindbody
Mindbody rents you booking and keeps the member relationship in its marketplace. Rehost leases you a branded app and loyalty you own.
Mindbody is a deep, mature booking and member-management platform, and for a lot of studios that depth is the whole reason to stay. The comparison isn't the calendar. It's where the member relationship lives: inside Mindbody's marketplace, where new clients find you and Mindbody takes 20% of that booking, or inside a branded app, website, and loyalty program a team operates for you from $950/mo, with the App Store account, domain, code, and member data in your studio's name.
Where Mindbody is genuinely strong.
Mindbody's booking engine is one of the most complete in fitness and wellness: class schedules, appointments, memberships, packages, waitlists, staff payroll, and reporting all sit under one roof. If your front desk lives in that calendar all day, replacing it is not a small decision, and the depth is real value.
The marketplace is also a genuine acquisition channel. Mindbody and ClassPass put your studio in front of people actively searching for a class near them. For a new location with no audience yet, that discovery can be worth the 20% cut, and we'll say so on a call. Owning your app makes more sense once you have regulars to keep, not just strangers to find.
The pricing, side by side.
Mindbody publishes a Starter rate and quotes the rest. Figures below reflect reported 2026 ranges (Starter $99/mo, Accelerate ~$259–$279/mo, Ultimate ~$499–$699/mo per location) plus the branded-app add-on and marketplace commission. Your quote will vary by location count and add-ons.
| Rehost | Mindbody | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | From $950/mo, MAU-based ($950 up to 2K, $1,500 up to 10K, $2,500 up to 50K) | $99/mo Starter; ~$259–$279/mo Accelerate; ~$499–$699/mo Ultimate, per location |
| Multi-location | One stack, priced by total active members, not by door | Per-location pricing; each studio multiplies the subscription |
| Branded app | Custom app included, designed for your studio | Add-on, ~$75–$250/mo on top of the plan |
| Marketplace cut | None; every member is yours directly | 20% commission on marketplace bookings, ~23.5% with processing |
| Who runs it | Rehost's team operates app, site, and loyalty | Your staff administers the platform |
| If you leave | App Store account, domain, code, loyalty, and member data stay yours | Booking, app, and marketplace listing end with the subscription |
Mindbody figures are a mix of published (Starter $99/mo) and reported ranges as of mid-2026; Accelerate and Ultimate are quote-only and vary by location and add-ons. Payment processing (~3.5%) applies on both sides; the marketplace 20% is on top of that, and only on marketplace-sourced bookings. Rehost's MAU tiers are published.
Five differences that decide it.
- Who owns the member relationship. On Mindbody, the client who books through the marketplace is Mindbody's contact first and yours second, and the 20% cut is the rent on that introduction. On the lease, every member signs up inside your branded app and loyalty program, in your data, reachable directly without a platform standing between you.
- Per-location rent vs member-based lease. Mindbody charges per door, so a second and third location multiply the subscription before you add a single member. Rehost is priced by total active members across the whole business: one stack, one bill that scales with usage, not with how many addresses you operate.
- Booking platform vs owned stack. Mindbody is the booking engine your staff administers. Rehost is the branded app, website, and loyalty layer a team builds and runs for you, wired to keep the regulars you already have coming back. If your booking depth is irreplaceable, we can sit alongside it rather than rip it out.
- The branded app is the point, not an add-on. Mindbody's branded app is an upsell on top of the plan, and it's still a Mindbody app underneath. The Rehost app is designed for your studio from the start, included in the lease, and held in your App Store account, not the vendor's.
- What happens if you leave. Cancel Mindbody and the app, booking, and your marketplace listing go with it. Cancel Rehost and the asset is already yours: App Store account in your name, domain on your registrar, code in your repo, loyalty and member data exported on request.
Pick Mindbody if.
- Deep booking (classes, appointments, packages, waitlists, staff payroll) is the core of your operation and your front desk lives in it.
- Marketplace and ClassPass discovery is a real source of new clients you'd lose without it, especially at a young location.
- You run a single location and the per-location pricing isn't multiplying yet.
Pick Rehost if.
- You have a base of regulars and want to own that relationship in your own app and loyalty program, not rent it from a marketplace.
- You're multi-location and tired of paying per door instead of by the members you actually serve.
- You want the app, website, and loyalty operated for you, with no platform for staff to administer.
- Owning the App Store account, domain, code, and member data matters because the brand is the asset you're building.
Common questions.
Is Rehost cheaper than Mindbody?
It depends on your size. A single studio on Starter at $99/mo is cheaper than Rehost's $950/mo. But once you add the branded app, run multiple locations, and account for the 20% marketplace cut on new bookings, the gap closes fast. Rehost is priced by active members across the whole business, so it tends to win as you grow past one door.
Does Rehost replace Mindbody's booking engine?
It can, but it doesn't have to. If your scheduling depth is irreplaceable, we can build the branded app and loyalty layer around your existing booking system where its API allows, so members get your app while the calendar keeps running. The 30-minute call is where we confirm what stays and what moves.
What about the clients who found us on the Mindbody marketplace?
That's the honest tradeoff. Marketplace discovery is real, and if most of your new clients come from it, leaving outright would cost you. Many studios run the owned app for their regulars and keep a marketplace presence for discovery during a transition. We map that on the call rather than pretending the marketplace has no value.
Who owns the app and member data with Rehost?
You do, structurally. The App Store account is in your studio's name, the domain sits on your registrar, the code lives in your repo, and member and loyalty data are yours to export anytime. Rehost operates the stack; your business holds it.
How fast can Rehost go live?
Around two weeks for the custom app, website, and loyalty, with no setup fee. We build alongside whatever you're running now, so nothing breaks while the new stack comes up and you can time the cutover to suit your members.
