Multi-Location / Fitness & Studios

Mindbody bills you per studio and rents your members back to you through a marketplace. Rehost is one branded app you own, priced by total active members across every location.

Run three studios on Mindbody and you pay for Mindbody three times, then hand back a fifth of every app booking through the marketplace cut. Rehost builds and operates one branded app across all your locations, with a single member record that follows a person from your Santa Monica studio to your Pasadena one. You own the App Store account, the domain, the member list, and the data. We run the platform.

What a per-location stack actually costs a chain.

  • You pay for the software once per studio. Mindbody is priced per location, with no automatic volume discount in published pricing. Reported 2026 tiers run roughly $99/mo Starter, $259 to $279 Accelerate, $499 Ultimate, and $699+ Ultimate Plus, each multiplied by every studio you open. A five-location chain on Ultimate is at about $2,495/mo before processing, before the marketplace cut, before a branded app add-on. Open a sixth studio and the line item grows again, whether or not you added a single new member.
  • The marketplace takes a cut of bookings you sourced. Bookings made through Mindbody's consumer app are reported to carry a 20% commission, capped at $30, on top of standard processing. A $100 class booked through the marketplace nets closer to $76 after fees. Multiply that across every location and every full-price spot a member could have booked in your own app, and the marketplace is quietly underwriting itself with your revenue.
  • ClassPass owns the member, not you. When a member discovers you through ClassPass or the Mindbody marketplace, the relationship and the data sit with the platform. Reporting suggests 94% of ClassPass users are new to the studio they book, but the platform is a discovery channel, not a retention engine. You get the class attendance and almost none of the contact, the spend history, or the ability to win that person to a full membership on your terms.
  • Every location is its own island of data. Members are tied to the studio they signed up at. There is no clean single view of someone who takes spin in one neighborhood and lifts at another, no cross-location pass that just works, and no chain-wide picture of who is at risk of churning. Your most valuable members, the ones who use the whole brand, are the ones your stack understands least.

One app, one member record, owned by the brand.

Rehost builds and operates a single branded iOS and Android app, a website, and a loyalty and customer-data platform for your whole chain. A member is one record across every location: one login, one membership, one pass that works at the Santa Monica studio and the Pasadena one, one history of every class they have taken under your brand. Bookings happen in your app, so there is no marketplace commission skimming the spots you already sourced, and the member relationship is yours to keep and to grow.

Your staff never logs into a builder. We design it, ship it, handle the App Store submissions and rejections, and make changes when you message us. The accounts sit under your business from day one: your App Store and Google Play developer accounts, your domain, your payment processor, your member list, your code. Pricing is by total monthly active members across the whole chain, not per studio, so growth shows up as more members on one bill instead of another full software license every time you open a door.

Built for a chain, not a single studio.

Cross-location membership.

One membership and one pass that work at every location. A member moves between studios without a second account, and you finally see the people who use the whole brand.

Your branded booking, no marketplace cut.

Members book classes and book passes in your own app under your name. No 20% commission on app bookings, no consumer marketplace standing between you and the member.

A unified member record you own.

Every class, every payment, every visit across every studio rolls up into one profile on a customer-data platform held in your business name. Export it any time.

Loyalty that spans the chain.

One rewards program across all locations, not a separate punch card per studio. Points earned in one neighborhood are spent in another, which is exactly what keeps multi-location members loyal.

Chain-wide retention signals.

Because the data is unified, the platform can flag a member whose attendance is sliding before they cancel, and the team can act on it instead of finding out at renewal.

Operated, not just licensed.

We run the app, the website, and the loyalty layer, ship content and design changes on request, and own App Store compliance. Your front desk runs classes, not software.

What a multi-studio operator asks.

We run six studios on Mindbody. How does Rehost pricing compare?

Mindbody is priced per location: six studios means six subscriptions, and on the Ultimate tier that is reported to be around $499 each, roughly $3,000/mo before the marketplace cut and add-ons. Rehost is one platform priced by your total monthly active members across all six: $950/mo up to 2,000 MAU, $1,500 up to 10,000, $2,500 up to 50,000. You stop paying again every time you open a location and start paying by how many people actually use your brand.

What happens to the 20% marketplace commission?

It goes away on bookings inside your own app. Mindbody's consumer marketplace is reported to take 20% (capped at $30) of bookings made through it. Your Rehost app is your own branded channel, so members book full-price classes and passes directly with you and no platform takes a cut of revenue you already sourced. If you still want third-party discovery, you can keep a marketplace presence, but it stops being the only place members can book.

Can a single membership work across all our locations?

Yes. That is the core of it. A member has one record and one membership that works at every studio, with one pass and one loyalty balance that follow them across the chain. You get a single view of the people who use more than one location, which a per-location stack typically cannot give you.

Is Mindbody ever the right call?

If you run a single studio and want a known platform with a built-in consumer marketplace for discovery, Mindbody is mature and proven, and the marketplace can genuinely send you new faces. The math turns against it as you add locations: the per-location bill stacks, the commission compounds across every studio, and the member relationship stays with the platform instead of with your brand.

If we leave, do we keep our members and our app?

Yes. Your App Store and Google Play accounts, your domain, your payment processor, your member list, and your code sit under your business name the entire time. Cancel and we export everything and hand the accounts back; the platform turns off but your member relationships and your data stay yours. There is no contract clawback.

One app across every studio, owned by your brand.

Stop paying per location and handing members back through a marketplace. We build and operate one branded app with cross-location membership and a member record you own, priced by total active members. One conversation starts it.
