Will Rehost own any of our parish's data or code?
No. Your organization retains 100% ownership of the application, code, branding, and all user data. We do not claim any equity or rights to your work. The grant covers our engineering labor, but the final platform belongs entirely to your community.
Does the app support complex liturgical needs or daily readings?
Yes. Because these are custom-built applications (not generic white-label templates), we can integrate complex liturgical calendars, daily office readings (like the BCP), saint of the day features, and complex fasting rules specific to your tradition.
Can we securely collect tithes and donations?
Absolutely. We connect directly with Stripe or your existing payment gateway (like Pushpay or Tithe.ly's API if available) to ensure secure, PCI-compliant tithing directly within the app.
Who is eligible to apply for this grant?
The Faith Community Custom Grant is open to US-based churches, temples, mosques, ministries, and religious non-profits. We prioritize communities demonstrating a clear, actionable vision for how custom technology will deepen their congregation's engagement.
What is the out-of-pocket cost for our organization?
The grant covers the $100,000+ cost of development labor. If selected, your organization is only required to pay a flat operational retainer of $250/month. This covers server hosting, ongoing maintenance, security updates, and 24/7 technical support.
What specific engineering services are covered?
The grant covers the complete engineering cycle for your Minimum Viable Product (MVP). This includes UI/UX design, mobile app development (iOS & Android) using React Native, backend infrastructure setup, and full deployment to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Does our organization need a dedicated IT person to manage this?
No. Rehost acts as your dedicated digital team. We handle all technical maintenance, server updates, and app store compliance. You only need to focus on creating content and engaging your community.
How long does it take to launch our app?
Once accepted into the program, most custom faith applications are designed, built, and launched within 1 to 2 weeks. The exact timeline depends on the complexity of your specific features and your team's responsiveness during the initial design phase.
